How we stay independent

A comparison is only useful if nobody can buy the result. These are the rules every Council member works under.

What we never accept

No brand, retailer or agency can pay for any of the following, and none has.

  • A place in a comparison, or a higher place
  • A change to a score or a verdict
  • Early sight of a page before publication
  • Removal of a criticism that is supported by evidence

How the site is funded

Test Council is funded by its owners. Some pages may in future carry links to retailers or brands, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Any such link will never change a score, a ranking or a verdict, and commercial links will be labelled.

Corrections and challenges

If you think a price, a specification or a score is wrong, write to [email protected]. We check every report against the evidence. When we correct a comparison, the update date at the top changes.
